REFLECTION #3

MODULE 2B – ANALYSIS OF THE LEARNER AND THE ENVIRONMENT

I really like the quotation shared to us by Sir Meoh and I quote “ The essence of education is connection, the key to connection is to understand the learner.”

As a teacher, I believe that one of the factors which will make teaching more productive is learner analysis. The teacher must know who he is dealing with so that he can cater to his needs. When the needs of students are met greater opportunities of learning takes place.

MODULE 2 – INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPMENT STAGES AND DESIGN
MODELS

I like how the facilitators started the discussion through a group activity. It gave us participants a chance to interact with our groupmates and get to know them a little better.

Everything we do needs careful planning. If our goal is to have competent learners then it starts with careful planning by the teacher. Every classroom has a unique set of students therefore the teacher must be careful in choosing his instructional design to suit the needs of the students.

REFLECTION 1

Module 1 – Pedagogical Perspectives on the Role of Technology in
Education

Technology is indeed a powerful tool in transmitting knowledge to learners. Now that we are in the age of “TECHNOLOGY”, as teachers we must be competent enough to use this in the classroom as avenues for students not only to learn lessons but apply it in the real life situations. It takes a lot of patience to be competent in this field but if we give more attention to its benefits rather than its disadvantages then we become more creative, more productive teachers thus creating learners who are fully equipped ready to face the inadequacies in life.
